From the publisher: "This book records Marina Abramovic's return to Rome after an absence of twenty years. Born in Belgrade, she has taught at the Berlin Hochschule and the Paris Academy, and has taken part in exhibitions and events at museums all over the world. In 1997 she won the Leone d'Oro at the 47th Venice Biennale. A modern nomad, as she likes to define herself, she sees the whole world as her studio and centers her work on the crossing of borders, both in a physical and a metaphorical sense. Her perfect control over herslef has allowed her to be wrapped in live pythons and to walk for months along the Great Wall of China. This great internal strength gives rise to an art that is unique inits integrity, rawness, and transforming energy."
