First edition, first printing. Signed in black marker "T.H." on the inside rear cover by Homma. Soft cover. Silkscreen monotype stiff wrappers (each cover is a unique screen print; this copy is an upside down detail of one of the two-page spreads in the book); no dust jacket as issued. Photographs transformed to screen prints by Takashi Homma. Unpaginated (36 pp.), with full-bleed four-color plates throughout. Designed by Kuroda Design. 14 x 9-3/4 inches. Published on the occasion of an exhibition at Gallery 360, Tokyo. This first edition was limited to 500 copies, each with a unique cover screen print.
Opened only for signature. The landscape of fast food restaurants serves as the subject matter in Takashi Homma's latest body of work, "M." The prints are ultra-enlarged silkscreens made from photographs that have been transformed into CYMK (cyan, yellow, magenta and black) colors. The effect is as if the viewer were looking through a magnifying glass at printed plates of Homma's work. Fascinating and disorienting, the work speaks volumes about mass-produced food and images.
