Includes an unbound portfolio of four high-gloss varnished black-and-white postcards (15-3/4 x 11 inches) on heavy black cardstock, each with "Daido" in gold letters across the image, contained in a printed paper envelope. The book, slipcase and portfolio are all contained in a custom cardboard clamshell box with a glossy, photographically illustrated label affixed to the cover. Photographs by Daido Moriyama. Description

The images presented here in this lavish, tactile and visually rewarding limited edition feature what Daido calls the "holy sites" of sports: stadiums, swimming pools, racetracks, boxing rings, etc., each made more sublime by the acute lack of human presence. Comparing these photographs with others in the book that depict majestic snow-covered mountain landscapes, one can begin to understand the sacredness that Daido suggests is contained within these structures and spaces.
